A party is not a party without some compo's, so here's the list of compo's we'll have during RSync.
Compo rules are kindly inspired by those in use at Revision
Remote entries
Remote entries are allowed for all competitions. Remote Entries can be uploaded using our party management system. Remote entries are not eligible for any prizes in any form, you only get bragging rights.

PC Compo Machine
The compo machine will have the following specs :
(But remember that last minute hardware and software configuration changes may if problems arise with this configuration)
- CPU: Core i7-7700K 4,2GHz
- Mainboard: ASUS H270M-PLUS
- RAM: 16GB RAM 2400MHz
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan X Pascal with 3584 cores
- OS: Windows 10 64bit latest version and latest WHQL NVidia drivers
Please make your entries work on sensible default settings, we wont have time to spend hours and hours to get stuff to work because you like that one special shiny videomode :)
- DotNet Entries: DotNet 4.8 that comes with Windows 10 will be available. We will not install any other versions.
- The latest WHQL drivers from www.nvidia.com will be installed.
- We will not install any additional Runtimes, SDKs, Codecs, Drivers etc on the compo machine except DX12. Please note that many DLLs used before are no longer provided with DX12, make sure your entry does not rely on them. (For demos you can include these in your release package and place them in the demo directory)
- Windows "Game Bar" will be disabled, "Game Mode" will be on.
PC Demo
- No maximum filesize.
- Maximum running time: 8 minutes (including loading/precalc).
- Java entries are allowed but you need to provide your own runtime in the submitted archive. This runtime will not be installed on the compo machine so you will have to start your production using the command line switches.
PC Intro
- Maximum file size is 65536 bytes for the executable. All other files in the archive will be deleted before showing the entry in the competition.
- Maximum running time: 8 minutes (including loading/precalc).
- You may not use the contents of the Windows "Media" or "Music Samples" directories. These directories will be deleted on the compo machine.
- Java entries are not allowed.
- DotNet entries are allowed when they follow the rules listed above.
Oldskool Demo
- Allowed platforms are Home Computers, Home Consoles and Handhelds up to and including the time period of the 4th generation of Video Game Consoles and Handheld Systems up to and including period of the 5th generation or any device with a CPU that has a 16 bit or smaller data bus. These are for instance C64, VIC20, Atari XL, Atari ST, NES, SNES, Master System, Mega Drive, ZX Spectrum, Game Boy Color, ...)
- Maximum size is 1 standard medium for your platform. For example
- 1 disk (both sides on single-side media) on VIC20, C64, Atari ST
- 1 cartridge image for NES
- Maximum running time: 8 minutes (including loading/precalc, which will be shown on the bigscreen in all its glory).
- No autostart or assembler jumps/SYS on systems with a BASIC interpreter.
Note that due to our limited hardware resources, please bring a device if you want it to run from real hardware, or bring a recording.
Streaming Music
- Only one entry per composer per competition allowed.
- Maximum playing time is 4 minutes.
- The entry has to be delivered as single .MP3 or .OGG file at a bitrate of 192kbps or higher.
- Do not use any copyrighted material in your track. Yes, this also applies to vocal tracks 'found on the internet'.
- Please complete ID3 tag or OGG file info as with as much detail as possible.
Graphics
- Only one entry per artist per competition allowed.
- Maximum resolution of the bigscreen is 1920x1080 pixels
- You must include exactly 4 (four) working stages together with your final version
- Please make sure that your entry is free of third-party rights ! For example, you may not include photographs if you don't own the copyright or have a legal license for it. Fan-Art 'found on the internet' is also considered as a third-party art and should not be used as well.
Textmode Graphics (formerly known as ASCII/ANSI/PETSCII)
- We will use a proper viewer for your entry.
- Short and medium pieces once will be shown from top to bottom, then back up to the top.
- Full ascii collys will be displayed ONCE from top to bottom.
- Long vertical ANSI screens will be displayed as "wide strips" at the end, instead of scrolling back upward.
- You do NOT need to submit any workstages.
- Animations are not allowed
- PETSCII : Yes we support PETSCII!)
- PC ASCII (Block): Either Cleaner's BlockZone font or one of Viler's px fonts will be used.
- PC ANSI: Standard font is Cleaner's BlockZone or one of Viler's px fonts in 8x8 (similar to "80x60 mode") or 8x16 ("traditional"). Unless requested otherwise, we will default to 8x16. Maximum size: 80 x 1000.
Fantasy Computer
- Allowed platforms: whatever works but we try to focus on TIC-80 and PICO-8 - anything else please provide a working setup or bring a video
- Maximum showing time: 5 minutes
